City council meets Aug. 4

The Vermillion City Council will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, in the Al Neuharth Media Center on The University of South Dakota campus.

Several public hearings are on the council’s meeting agenda:

• Special daily malt beverage and wine license for the Fraternal Order of Eagles on or about Sept. 5 and 6, on West Main Street.

• Special daily malt beverage license for the Vermillion Area Arts Council on or about Sept. 13 and Oct. 11, at 202 Washington Street.

• Retail on-off sale malt beverage license for the Prairie Inn SD, LLC for Pro’s Sports Bar and Grill at 912 N. Dakota Street.

• Retail on-off sale malt beverage license for Prairie Inn SD, LLC for Prairie Lanes at 912 N. Dakota Street.


• Bike and pedestrian path right-of-way resolution of necessity.

Under new business, the city council will take action on an airport hangar lease transfer, a resolution for a state revolving fund loan to for the second phase of improvements to the wastewater treatment plant, and presentation of the proposed 2009 budget.
