Despite winning their first game of the day in the NCC Softball Tournament, the season came to an end for The University of South Dakota following a 7-0 loss to Minnesota State University. USD started the day by defeating the Augustana 10-3 before suffering the loss to MSU.

The University of South Dakota has named Marcia Oliveira (Mar-see-uh All-la-veer-uh) as the head coach of the women's soccer team, as announced by Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen. Oliveira, who has spent the past six seasons as the head coach at NCAA Division I Sam Houston State University, replaces Becky Hei-berger.
