Senior turn out keeps increasing

On April 29, golfers came out to play. This is our largest turn out of the new season. However, scores were only moderate with the best being a 38. Prizes were given to scores of 38 through 41. Seven teams out of nine received a prize ball. Winning teams listed in order from first through seventh are as follows: Elmer Mount, Don Baer and Milo Gilbertson at 38; Vern Holter, Dick Kellogg and Dick Burbach at 39; Harlan Schott, Jim Grabowski and Dick Gregory at 40; Jerry Sommervold, Bob Lund and Dave Zimmer at 40; Turk Pilker, Rod Steckelberg, Ray Lynn and Maurice Erickson at 41; Shorty Hanson, Cleland Cook and Guy Button at 41; and placed in seventh was the team of Jack Doyle, Ross King and Gene Iverson with a 41. Some amazing things happened in this session. Jack Doyle made a 40-foot birdie putt on the ever tough #15. Don Baer dropped a long uphill par putt of 36-foot on hole #16. Fritz Bartels thrilled his teammates with a 14-foot birdie on #12. Bob Lund birdied the short par 3 #12 all by himself without any assistance from his teammates. Vern Holter sank a 21-foot birdie putt on the last hole #18 to give his team a firm grip on second place. The seniors had a fun day of golf. Remember, any age can play with the seniors, you just need to be able to play in the morning or afternoon on Tuesdays. We play a scramble type format.
