Rockne leads USD tennis team to a 5-4 decision over Sioux Falls

Melanie Rockne rallied for a victory at No. 5 singles to lift The University of South Dakota women's tennis team to a 5-4 decision over the University of Sioux Falls on Tuesday afternoon at the USD Tennis Courts.

With the win, the Coyotes ended the regular season with a 19-7 record, which is the best mark in the history of the program. The University of Sioux Falls dropped to 6-11.

Rockne, who improved to 16-10 on the season, rallied for a 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 decision against Meghan Klein of USF in the final match of the day. USD also earned wins from Rijalda Zejnic (19-7) at No. 1 singles, Jenny Lewellen (17-2) at No. 2 singles, Ashley Waltman (22-4) at No. 6 singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Lewellen and Rockne (13-3).
