GAYVILLE A lockdown situation at the Gayville-Volin school Wednesday morning has ended in an arrest.

According to a press release from the Yankton County Sheriff's Office, a report was received at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday of a threat at the Gayville­Volin School involving a juvenile who allegedly was going to shoot up the school. The facility was placed on lockdown at that time.

A 16-year-old juvenile suspect was eventually placed in custody and the lockdown was lifted.

No other information on the incident was available.

Besides the sheriffs office, the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Game, Fish and Parks also responded to the incident.

The sheriffs office will be conducting an investigation.
