SUNDAY, NOV. 29

12:20 a.m. - While conducting bar checks downtown, Officers encountered a male subject inside one of the bars who was under the age of 21. The investigation revealed the minor and had been drinking alcohol, possibly prior to entering the bar. The minor was escorted out of the bar and issued a citation for Underage Consumption of Alcohol.

2:15 a.m. - During the early morning hours of 11/29/15 an officer observed a vehicle driving poorly. The officer stopped the vehicle and it was discovered the female driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. The driver was found to be impaired and subsequently arrested for DUI.

5:58 p.m. - Officers responded to an apartment complex to investigate a fire alarm activation. The reporting party advised a smoke alarm could be heard coming from his neighbor's apartment. The source of the alarm activation was discovered to be a lit candle. The apartment was vacant at the time of the alarm activation.

6:16 p.m. - Officers responded to a local gas station to investigate suspicious activity which involved a male subject disturbing other patrons. Officers made contact with the disruptive subject outside of the gas station and it was discovered he was in possession of several items he'd stolen from the gas station. The subject was issued a citation for shoplifting.

MONDAY, NOV. 30

10:16 a.m. - An officer responded to a two vehicle accident on North Dakota Street. The crash investigation revealed one vehicle turned in front of the other. That driver was cited for Failure to Yield.

12:47 p.m. - Officers assisted the Street Department during the Winter Storm Warning. Officers began the process of ticketing and towing vehicles that were parked on Emergency Snow Routes during the early afternoon hours. Approximately 12 vehicles were in violation. REMINDER: Vermillion City Ordinance 70.096-EMERGENCY SNOW ROUTES.

1:09 p.m. - An officer responded to an accident on Cherry Street that involved 2 vehicles. The officer investigated the accident and determined one of the driver's failed to yield when it turned in front of the second vehicle. The driver was cited for the traffic violation.

1:13 p.m. - An officer responded to a private parking lot at an apartment complex to investigate a hit-and-run traffic accident. The investigation continues.

6:59 p.m. - Officers responded to a local gas station to investigate suspicious activity. The reporting party advised there was a male subject in the casino who was waving around a needle that contained drugs. The officers located the male subject who was holed up in the restroom. The subject was placed under arrest and transported to the jail because he had 4 Clay County arrest warrants.

TUESDAY, DEC. 1

2:51 p.m. - A motorists called to report an erratic driver on Hwy 50 near Princeton Street. The suspected erratic driver was identified by an officer. The case awaits review from the State's Attorney Office.

5:02 p.m. - An officer responded to the intersection of Cherry Street and Cottage Avenue to investigate a traffic crash that involved two vehicles. One of the vehicles was not insured and the driver of that vehicle was cited for the violation.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 2

5:50 a.m. - An officer responded to a report of a water main break on North University Street. The officer confirmed the report and the City Water Department was notified.

2:26 p.m. - Officers responded to a medical call at a residence to assist an elderly female who'd fallen and hurt her arm. Officers rendered aid to the female until EMS arrived.

4:49 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence to investigate a domestic disturbance. The male subject involved in the incident had been drinking and was on probation. The male subject was arrested for violating the conditions of his probation.

7:51 p.m. - Officers responded to a bar downtown to investigate a possible trespassing. During the investigation the Officer confirmed the male subject had previously been warned by management to never return to the property. The male was arrested for Criminal Trespassing.

THURSDAY, DEC. 3

3:21 a.m. - During the early morning hours of 12/3/15 a Sergeant located a female slumped over the steering wheel in a parked car downtown. The female was intoxicated and she did not know whose car she was in. She was placed under arrest for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.

4:10 p.m. - Officers responded to a medical call that involved a male falling off a ladder. The Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived on scene.

FRIDAY, DEC. 4

1:34 a.m. - On 12/4/15 Officers responded to a bar downtown to investigate an assault. The Officers determined an assault had occurred and one male subject was placed under arrest.

3:37 a.m. - Officers responded to a residence for a medical call. The Officers discovered an elderly female who'd fallen and hurt her arm. The Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived on scene.

8:59 p.m. - Officers responded to an apartment complex to investigate a reported marijuana odor coming from one of the apartments. The Officers confirmed the odor of marijuana and made contact with two tenants. Both tenants were arrested for using and possessing marijuana.

10:17 p.m. - Officers received information that an intoxicated male left a local bar and drove away. An Officer located the suspect and discovered he was driving poorly. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was subsequently arrested for DUI.

SATURDAY, DEC. 5

3:10 a.m. - Two minors were issued Underage Consumption citations after accidentally dialing 9-1-1.

4:18 p.m. - A female called to report her wallet was missing and she discovered unauthorized purchases on her checking account. The case is under investigation.
