MONDAY, DEC. 10

9:41 a.m. - An inmate was transported to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls to begin a prison sentence.

11:47 a.m. - A deputy responded to the court services office in the courthouse to arrest a person being held for a probation violation.

7:21 p.m. - A deputy responded to a non-injury accident on Frog Creek Road after a caller reported striking a raccoon causing damage to his vehicle.

TUESDAY, DEC. 11

7:16 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a man passing a fraudulent check in a Wakonda business. The man suspected of passing the check was currently in the Clay County Jail for other instances of the same offense. The man was charged with an additional offense.

12:54 p.m. - A deputy responded to a non-injury, two vehicle accident in Burbank.

1:51 p.m. - A deputy received a report from a rural resident of someone opening a cell phone account in his name. The cell phone provider worked with the man to close the account.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 12

10:14 a.m. - An inmate who was wanted for Clay County warrants was transported to the Clay County Jail from the Charles Mix County Jail.

THURSDAY, DEC. 13

8:45 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail to attend a court appearance.

8:57 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of an Irene student possessing a knife on a school bus. There was no apparent harm intended and the matter was handled using school disciplinary policy.

12:06 p.m. - An inmate was transported to a medical appointment and then was returned to the jail.

12:26 p.m. - An inmate was transported to the Yankton County Jail after a court appearance in Clay County.

3:25 p.m. - An inmate was transported to a dentist appointment.

8:18 p.m. - A deputy assisted the Yankton Police Department with locating a suspect vehicle involved in a Hit and Run in Yankton. The vehicle was located at a Vermillion residence. The driver was located as well and information was gathered to assist Yankton Police with their investigation.

FRIDAY, DEC. 14

11:29 a.m. - A deputy observed a vehicle being operated with expired license plates. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for the offense.

2:35 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a Vermillion High School student entering another student's locker.

4:22 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a theft of a log splitter from a rural Meckling farm.

7:47 p.m. - A caller requested patrol of his residence after receiving text messages appearing to be an extortion attempt. The messages appeared to be a scam attempt. No money or personal information was shared with the person sending the messages

SATURDAY, DEC. 15

1:22 a.m. - A deputy assisted the Yankton Police by locating the parents of two Irene juveniles to let the parents know their children were in custody in Yankton.

8:49 a.m. - Deputies responded to a call reporting a juvenile female walking without shoes along Highway 19. Upon arrival, the girl was found at a rural residence. The girl was later admitted on an involuntary mental health committal.

2:03 p.m. - A patient was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital for an involuntary mental health committal.
