Scenes from Vermillion's Seventh Annual Standstill Parade of Lights, held downtown on Thursday, Dec. 1. The event began at 6 p.m. and featured an arrival by Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves who helped light the community Christmas tree at Ratingen Platz.

Santa Claus
People gather around Santa Claus after he flipped a switch to light up the Christmas tree in downtown Vermillion during the seventh annual Standstill Parade of Lights. The top three floats in the parade, according to judges, were those of the Vermillion Scouts, the Vermillioin Area Farmers Market and the Vermillion Public Transit. Entertainment was provided Thursday night by the Vermillion Area Dance Organization (VADO) and the USD Chamber Singers.
