March In Support

Mark Daniels, a clinical psychologist in Vermillion, leads a march of nearly 100 people who gathered Sunday in Vermillion in support of the state's transgender population. The gathering and march were held after the South Dakota Legislature last week introduced legislation that supporters describe as discriminatory. Two bills, if approved, would ban transgender youth from playing on the sports team consistent with their gender identity (HB 1006 and SB 46) and one bill, if approved, would ban transgender students access to locker rooms consistent with their gender identity (HB 1005).
