The Vermillion volleyball team played Bon Homme last Tuesday at home. The Tanagers won the match in three sets.
Ive enjoyed the chemistry we have this year, said senior Lexi Saunders. We have worked for that connection, and this year, its starting to come together.
Vermillion won the first set 25-11. They went on to capture the second 25-12 and the third 25-17.
Im most proud of the way we fight for every game, and we dont just lay down when times get tough, said Saunders.
Senior Toria Andre tallied nine kills and two blocks in the three sets. Senior Emily Stockwell and Junior Sydney Stockwell each had four kills. Junior Shandie Ludwig tallied 12 digs and four assists.
We served well against Bon Homme, and I think thats what helped us execute quickly, said Saunders. She recorded four aces Tuesday night.
Saunders also had 10 assists, five digs, and three kills. Senior Kennedy Pratty tallied 11 assists on the night.
For our next game, we need to keep our confidence high, said Saunders. We have three goals for each game, and if we continue to meet those goals, we will do just fine.
The Tanagers will play in a tournament this Saturday in Tyndall. Their first game will be against Platte-Geddes at 8:30 a.m.
