SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17

3:45 p.m. - A deputy stopped to check on a vehicle parked along 470th Avenue with its flashers on. The driver was sleeping in the car. The driver was not impaired and had stopped to rest. The driver was found to have a suspended driver's license and was cited for the offense. A licensed driver was called to pick the man up.

7:17 p.m. - A deputy responded to a car/deer crash on the Highway 50 Bypass near Vermillion.

11:16 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Highway 50 near Meckling.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18

9:37 a.m. - A Wakonda resident reported receiving a scam phone call from someone claiming to be with Social Security requesting personal information and claiming there was a warrant for the person's arrest. No money was lost to the scam caller.

9:57 a.m. - The school resource officer investigated a report of a parent not sending her children to school. The matter will be forwarded to the State's Attorney for the consideration of criminal charges.

3:39 p.m. - A deputy received a report from a caller who received an email attempting to extort money to prevent the scammer from releasing a video the scammer claims to have of the reporting party. Since it was identified as a scam attempt, no money was given to the scammer.

6:18 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on the Highway 50 Bypass near Vermillion.

8:04 p.m. - A deputy responded to a request for assistance from a man who had a flat tire on Highway 50 near Meckling and needed traffic control assistance while he changed it.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19

9:13 a.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a report of a medical emergency in Wakonda.

9:46 a.m. - An inmate was transported to the Clay County Jail from the Sioux County Jail in Orange City, IA.

7:56 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of someone spotlighting from a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was no longer in the area at the time of the deputy's arrival.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20

5:05 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

5:42 p.m. - A deputy responded to Irene to assist Turner County deputies with an effort to locate a man involved in an assault in Parker. The man was not located.

7:44 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 19 near Bluff Road.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21

9:56 a.m. - The school resource officer located a truant Irene student and cited him for truancy.

5:45 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a car/deer crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22

9:44 a.m. - The school resource officer received a report from a student of a theft of a cell phone and a car key from his gym locker.

9:48 a.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a medical emergency at a rural residence.

11:20 a.m. - A student reported to the School Resource Officer that her ear buds were stolen from her locker.

7:32 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 23

9:11 a.m. - A man wanted in Clay County was transported to the Clay County Jail from the jail in Onawa, Iowa.

10:33 a.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

2:43 p.m. - A deputy responded to a rural residence where a pit bull had attacked a mail carrier's vehicle and tore the front bumper from the car.

5:01 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report from a Burbank resident that her father had stolen items from her home and pawned them. The matter is under investigation.

11:24 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped for speeding on 306th St. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license. The driver was cited for the offense.
