The 2019 homecoming Queen Lexi Saunders and King Brady Martinez light the "V" after being crowned at coronation Monday evening.

Congratulations to Lexi Saunders and Brady Martinez who were crowned 2019 VHS homecoming queen and king.

The Vermillion Tanagers kicked off their homecoming “T-Week” with coronation Monday evening in the high school auditorium, the Thomas H. Craig Center for the Performing Arts.

Six senior girls and six senior boys were nominated for royalty by Vermillion High School students prior to Monday’s coronation.

The girls of the 2019 homecoming court are Brooke Assmus, Abby Johnson, Kenzie Mockler, Kennedy Pratt, Saunders, and Emily Stockwell. The boys include Jacob Chaussee, Camerin Davoux, Martinez, Trevor Tarr, Brock Voss, and Sam Ward.

Saunders was crowned the 2019 VHS homecoming queen, and Martinez the homecoming king. The two proceeded outside to the burning of the “V” as the band performed a pep rally.

The royalty will be in the Tanager parade this Friday, which begins at 1:30 p.m. The homecoming court will also be announced prior to the football game the same evening.

The homecoming game will at 7 p.m. in the DakotaDome against Tri-Valley.
