Mya DeJong and Zach Brady will reign over a busy week of Homecoming activities at Vermillion High School after being crowned the 2021 queen and king at the Coronation ceremony held Monday night, Sept. 6, in the high school auditorium.

The week’s activities include a busy Tuesday, with Tanagers boys’ golf hosting Elk Point/Jefferson at The Bluffs in Vermillion; Tanagers boys’ soccer hosting Sioux Falls Christian and Tanagers girls’ volleyball hosting Bon Homme in the Vermillion High School gymnasium.

Wednesday is Vermillion High School’s Volunteer Day and students will be kept that busy providing volunteer services to several organizations throughout the Vermillion community.

On Thursday, the Tanagers girls’ soccer team plays host to the Sioux Falls Christian team.

The Homecoming Week activities wrap on Friday, with a Homecoming Parade down Vermillion’s Main Street at 1:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. Friday, the Vermillion Tanagers football team will face Madison in the DakotaDome.

This year’s royalty candidates, besides Mya and Zach, are Anna Armbrust, Taylor Solomon, Mackenzie Brady, Clare Dahlhoff, Nate Fairholm, Reece Proefrock, Alexandru Georgescu and Ben Burbach.

Candle holders are Kayleen Job, Alexa LaCognata, Gertie Peterson, Kara Klemme, Avrie Shefl, Kaleb Preister, Bodhi Brady, TJ Tracy, Hari Kadarkaraisamy, and Will Fairholm.
