SUNDAY, FEB. 10

2:21 a.m. - While arresting a male for a crime, officers found a fake ID belonging to another male. That male was charged with possessing a fake ID.

12:45 p.m. - Officers stopped a car for expired plates and issued the driver a ticket.

TUESDAY, FEB. 12

12:44 p.m. - Caller requested officer check on a man who was asleep in a vehicle in a business parking lot. The man had fallen asleep waiting to meet someone.

1:10 a.m. - Complainant reported a vehicle had been parked on the roadside for several weeks. Officers contacted the owner of the vehicle who moved the vehicle off the roadside.

5:40 p.m. - Vermillion Officers employed Confidential Informant(s) to attempt to purchase alcohol from Liquor License Holders. Informant(s) attempted to purchase alcohol at ten businesses. Four of the businesses failed the check and sold alcohol to the Informants. The four employees were cited for furnishing alcohol to minors.

10:53 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of an elderly man found deceased in his home. Under investigation, no foul play is suspected at this time.

11:56 p.m. - Caller reported a man had just stolen beer from a local convenience store. Officers responded and found the thief had tried to drive away and had been stopped by a man because the thief was very intoxicated. At the completion of the investigation, the man was arrested for theft, DWI 2nd and driving while suspected.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13

1:12 a.m. - A Vermillion Officer assisted a South Dakota State Trooper with collecting a urine sample from a prisoner.

4:57 p.m. - Complainant reported unknown person(s) had damaged the bed of his truck attempting to remove a tool box from the bed. There are no suspects at this time.

7:19 p.m. - An officer heard an alarm at a local business. The officer checked the building and called the Fire Department. The alarm was not caused by fire or intrusion.

THURSDAY, FEB. 14

11:05 a.m. - An officer responded to a two vehicle non-injury accident. One of the drivers was cited for running a red light resulting in the accident.

11:32 a.m. - An officer responded to a two vehicle hit-and-run accident in a parking lot. Under investigation.

2:00 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding 36 mph in a 25 mph hour speed zone. The driver was cited.

FRIDAY, FEB. 15

10:43 p.m. - Officers received a compliant of a Lyft Driver operating without a City License. An officer contacted the driver who was in fact operating as Lyft driver without a license. The subject was cited.

SATURDAY, FEB. 16

12:29 a.m. - While conducting a bar check, an officer contacted a man who appeared to be under 21 and was drinking. The man lied about his name and date of birth. The man was arrested for underage consumption/possession and false impersonation.

12:55 p.m. - While conducting a bar check, an officer contacted a woman who appeared to be under age. She was underage and had been consuming alcohol. She was cited.

1:32 a.m. - While conducting a bar check, an officer saw a man who had an arrest warrant out of Clay County. The officer arrested the subject.

1:45 a.m. - While conducting a bar check, an officer contacted a woman as she tried to leave the bar because she appeared to be underage. The woman provide a false name. She was in possession of a fictitious license and paraphernalia related to marijuana. She was arrested for multiple offenses.

2:47 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of an unknown man pounding on the windows of a residence. Officer found the man who fled on foot when the officers arrived. He was highly intoxicated, under 21 years of age, and was on court conditions not to drink. The man was arrested and charged.

4:50 a.m. - Officers responded to an elderly patient who had fallen and been hurt. Officers provided care until the ambulance arrived and took over treatment.

6:01 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic. Officer found that a juvenile was arguing with her aunt, who was caring for her. Investigation revealed the aunt had warrants out of Minnehaha and Bon Homme Counties. The aunt was arrested on the warrants and the juvenile's mother came to get the juvenile.
