SUNDAY, AUGUST 18

1:54 a.m. - An officer contacted a man walking down the sidewalk downtown drinking a beer. When the man opened his wallet, the officer saw he had an Indiana Id card, which stated he was over 21. However, the man provided a South Dakota Id showing he was 20. The man was arrested.

4:07 a.m. - Officers took a report of an assault involving a weapon. Investigation continues.

MONDAY, AUGUST 19

2:20 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for failing to stop for a stop light. The driver was cited.

3:34 p.m. - Officers investigated a hit-and-run accident. One car, which had been parked on the roadside had been hit by another. There is no suspect information at this time.

5:17 p.m. - A caller reported an intoxicated subject buying gas and about to drive away from a gas station. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it. The driver was intoxicated and was arrested for DWI 3rd offense, open container and probation violation.

7:48 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a local park. Investigation led to a woman being arrested for domestic simple assault.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 20

1:46 a.m. - Caller requested a welfare check on a subject who had been very intoxicated the night before. Officer located the subject who was alright.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21

12:48 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a man having a seizure. Officer provide care until the ambulance arrived and transported the patient to the hospital.

7:51 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for doing 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. The driver was cited.

2:53 p.m. - A supervisor investigated a two vehicle non-injury accident involving a police officer. The on-duty officer had run into the back end of the vehicle traveling in front of him. The South Dakota Troopers conducted the investigation and the officer was cited for following too closely.

11:27 p.m. - While conducting a bar check, an officer contacted a man who claimed he did not have any identification. When he was getting a credit card out with this name on it, the officer saw two ids in the wallet, one from California the other from Arizona. The man had been drinking was under 21 and had a fake id from California in his possession. He was arrested.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 22

1:14 a.m. - While conducting a bar check, officer contacted two men who looked to be under 21 years of age. Both provided identification out of Colorado. Both ids were fake. The two were under 21 and had been drinking. They were arrested.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 23

1:02 a.m. - An officer contacted an occupied vehicle in a City park that is closed after dark. The occupant had been smoking marijuana. The officer found marijuana and paraphernalia in the vehicle. The occupant was arrested.

8:17 a.m. - Officers investigated a two vehicle non-injury accident. One of the vehicle had run into the back end of the other. The rear driver was cited for following too closely.

8:09 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a loud house party. The renters were identified and issued tickets for the noise violation.

10:09 p.m. - Officers stopped a car for an out tail light. While speaking with the driver, officers smelled illegal drugs. A search found several drug items, and the driver was arrested.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 24

1:03 a.m. - A Vermillion Officer assisted in the Jail with a combative inmate.

5:59 p.m. - Officers are investigating a report of a sex crime.

6:46 p.m. - Officers investigated a two-vehicle non-injury accident. No one was cited.

10:38 p.m. - Officers received a noise complaint at a house. They responded and spoke with the renters about the noise.
