Give Thanks

Editor’s Note: We asked Vermillion fourth-grade students what they are thankful for during this season of Thanksgiving. Here are there responses.

Mrs. Koch’s Class, Jolley Elementary

Logan W: I’m thankful for those who serve in the Army.

Henry O: I’m thankful for my friends, family and food.

Luke J: I’m thankful for sports.

Alex P: I’m thankful for my friends and family.

Lucas S: I’m thankful for my family, friends and food.

Ayden C: I’m thankful for family, my dogs and cousins.

Joseph M: I’m thankful for family and friends.

Elle M: I’m thankful for food and shelter.

Ally M: I’m thankful for family and friends.

Nolan L: I’m thankful for family, a roof over my head and food!

Dedrick K: I’m thankful for everything that I have!

Lyric J: I’m thankful for having a house, food and water.

Taber B: I’m thankful for family, friends, food, dinosaurs and ventriloquism.

Roz O: I’m thankful for family, friends, food and water.

Beck B: I’m thankful for presents, Black Friday, Veterans and friends.

Tarynn H: I’m thankful for Veterans, family and friends.

Hayden J: I’m thankful for friends, family, electricity, TVs, Fortnite and PS4s.

Harmony T: I’m thankful for family, animals and my church.

Myles S: I’m thankful for friends, my sister and brother and my family.

Norah W: I’m thankful for family and grandma’s pigs.

Mrs. Hall’s Class, Jolley Elementary

Addison A: I’m thankful for my family and my cats Aspen and Sokies, friends and food, also my Daddy. I am also thankful for freedom and the military.

Cameron B: I am thankful for my family (even my two sisters), and my dog Bentley. I am also thankful for the military because they risk their lives for us. I’m also thankful for sports because I love to watch and play them. I’m also thankful for friends like Taber, Talan, Luke, Bryson, Tanner, Lucas, Olliver, Henry M, and Trequin. So that's what I’m thankful for.

Evelyn CG: I am thankful for my whole family, friends Audrina, Addison, Lauren, Jenna, Keya, Taylor and lots others, but my mom and dad are my favorite. I’m thankful for the military who fights for our freedom and for the people who take care of all the bad things everyday. I wonder if they are okay because they always help our community. I am also thankful for the doctors who do surgeries because they can save people's lives. So, thank you.

Audrina S: I’m thankful for my two twin brothers. I’m also thankful for my grandma and grandpas and my mom. I am also thankful for my pet. It’s a dog and its name is Larry. I’m really thankful for the army because they save our lives. The last thing I am thankful for is my friends Keya, Evelyn, Taylor, and Addy.

Shailene G: I am thankful for my mom, my sister, my brother, and my pets. I’m thankful for all my friends, Addy, Emma, and Lauren. I’m thankful for my bus driver Aul because he has to drive a lot of kids around. I’m thankful for my awesome teacher Mrs. Hall. She is always nice to her class.

Kaitlyn H: I am thankful for my family, Mrs. Hall, my friends, my dogs. I am thankful for food, class, and Mrs. Walters.

Talan J: I am thankful for family, friends, animals, and for my home. I am also thankful for the military because they fight for our freedom. The last thing I am thankful for is food, clean water, toys, and my electronics.

Chloe K: I am thankful for my family and my friends. I am also thankful for all of my LOL`s dolls and my awesome classmates. What I am mostly thankful for is food and a home!

Amani L: I am thankful for my friends and my family. I am thankful for the army and my brother he is in the army to. I am especially thankful for my awesome teacher Mrs. Hall. She is really nice. My friends are really nice and I like to play with them, but I play soccer.

Lauren L: I am thankful for tacos, my mom, unicorns, and my friends. I am thankful for tacos because they are so AWESOME! Also, I am thankful for my mom because she makes me tacos. I am thankful for unicorns because they are tremendously magical. Finally, I am thankful for my friends like Chloe, Jenna, Taylor, Addie, Shailene, Evelyn, Emma, Keya, and more because they play with me at recess.

Allison M: I am thankful for living in a wonderful world. I am thankful for having a nice, loving family. I am thankful for having all the things I need to be happy. I am thankful for meeting amazing people in my life. I am thankful to be free to do all the things I want to do in my life.I am thankful for being myself everyday. I am thankful for the army who risk their lives for our freedom, yet they will always live in our bold, kind, honest hearts. Last, I am thankful for my animals who make me feel like having a sweet life.

Ian M: I am thankful for my family (Avi , Elora , Amber , Ty , and my grandparents). I am also thankful for food, shelter, stuffed animals, love , the U.S.A , the military. Thankful for everything, boom!

Sean M: I am thankful for my teacher, Mrs. Hall, my dog, and my stuffed animal gorilla Sam. I’m also thankful for my family. I’m thankful for my school and my classmates!

Henry M: I am thankful for my family. I’m also thankful food and water. I’m also thankful for my mom, my dad, and my two sisters. Lastly, I’m thankful for the military who fought for our freedom.

Jenna P: I am thankful for my nice, loving family and friends. I am also thankful for food, water, and a house. I’m thankful for Jolley school, my classmates, and Mrs. Hall. All of my friends are Lauren, Taylor, Addy, Keya, Emma, Evelyn, Shailene, and Chloe. My favorite food is tacos!

Bryson S: I am thankful for my mom, dad, brother, 3 dogs, and 1 cat, the military, America, and my house. My brother can be mean to me sometimes, but I love him though. I am thankful for all of my teachers. I am thankful for my life. I am thankful for my best friends Olliver, Tanner, Luke, Lucas, Trequin, Caleb, and Tala, and Cameron.

Emma S: I am thankful for my family, my house, and our town Vermillion. Everything that I have means a lot to me. I am thankful for the army who saved our freedom. I’m thankful for Mrs. Hall who is the best teacher ever. She is a very thoughtful person.

Tanner S: I’m thankful for my family, my mom, my dad, my two brothers Devon and Jase, my dog Baxton and my cat Jinx. I’m also thankful for farmers who grow all our food. I’m also thankful for the army who risk their lives for us. I’m thankful for my two grandpas who have served in the army. Lastly, I’m thankful for my friends Bryson, Trequin, Henry M., Henry O., Luke, Jayden, and many others.

Trequin T: I’m thankful for my family, sister, mom, dad, brother and I’m thankful for my friends like Bryson, Caleb, Tanner, Cameron, Henry and I’m thankful for the food that people or my parents cook for me. Also, thank you to the military that served our country to fight for our freedom. The Airforce, Army, Marines, and lots of others.

Taylor F: I’m thankful for my family and the military people that severed in the war. I am so thankful for everything. I am also thankful for my cats and my friends Lauren , Jenna, Chloe, Keya ,and Evelyn. I am most thankful for my sister and my mom and dad.

Keya J: I’m thankful for my baby sister, Kahleesi, and my brother, Caleb, and of course my parents. I’m also thankful for my pet cat Richard. I also love my two dogs Alexa and Duckster and the all the branches of the military.

Olliver W: I’m thankful for my cats and my family. Also, I love my mom and dad, grandma and grandpa. I’m also thankful for the world and nature. I am thankful for school so I can learn. I’m happy that I have a friend named Bryson.

Mrs. Walters’ Class, Jolley Elementary

Danica A: I am thankful for my family because they work hard and I am also thankful for my pet because then I’m not lonely at my house. I am thankful for my friends because at school I’m not lonely. I am thankful for my teachers for teaching me so I can learn.

Raelee B: I am thankful for my family and my friends. I’m thankful for my pets and my school. I’m thankful for my home and clothes and food. I’m thankful for everything I have.

Mason B: I am thankful for eating pizza and having Pokemon. I am also thankful for having a phone and lettuce.

Tyler B: I am thankful for my family, my cat, brothers, sisters. I am also thankful for my mom and dad.

Kolten B: I am thankful for my family -- they mean everything to me. I am also thankful for St. Agnes, Austin, and Jolley School for giving me all the education they have. I am thankful for my friends who cheer me up when I’m sad. Most of all, I’m thankful for life. Without life, all the things I’m thankful for would be gone.

Kelton C: I am thankful for my grandpa because he gave me a go-kart. He has a lot of pets. I am happy that I got to see him yesterday. So grandpa, Happy Thanksgiving!

Abukar D: I am thankful for my family for caring for me and for raising me. I am thankful for my mom for buying food and gifts. I am thankful for everything.

Paisleigh E: I am thankful for my family and them not being hurt in a car crash. I am also thankful for my uncle not getting hurt in the Army. I am thankful for my friends. I am thankful that my parents are respectful to me. I am thankful that my pets are still alive.

Hayden F: I am thankful for being a Jolley student. If I could be a teacher at Jolley, maybe I would. And my cousins are nice too. And I like to be a friend.

Izzy G: I am thankful for my parents and my family. I am thankful for my friends and a roof to live under. I’m thankful for life and food and money.

Charlie G.L: I am thankful for food, water, electricity, being in school, having a house, having money for hospital, VHS plays, having money for clothes, and having a family that cares about me.

Sasha L: I am thankful for my cat Karma because she is the best cat ever in the whole world. And my grandpa because he served for our country. I am very proud that I have him in my life. I am also thankful for my grandma because she is so kind and nice. I am also thankful for my daddy because without him I would not have a roof over my head or anything to eat or drink.

Eleanor M: I am thankful for my great family. I am thankful for my good food and house. I am thankful for clothing and pets.

Harmony M: I am thankful for my tablet and PS4, my family, and my slime, electricity, and my sister. I am not spoiled, just good.

Andrew M: I’m thankful for my family and God for the life he gave me and all the things he’s done for me and for my health.

Brooke N: I am thankful for my family and friends. I am thankful for my teacher for helping me with what I need help with. I’m also thankful for my dad and my mom. I’m also thankful for my house I live in and Mrs. Bottolfson helping me with reading.

Jackson S: I am thankful for my family and my pet. I am thankful for my little sister. I am also thankful for holidays and visiting family.

Caleb T: I’m thankful for all the Veterans that served in the army. If it weren’t for them, we would be scared all the time knowing people are coming. I’m also thankful for having a roof over my head and food to eat.

Mya W: I am thankful for food, shelter, and clothes. I am also thankful for my teachers, friends, and my old pets. I’m thankful for school supplies, books, and most of all my family because they feed me, help me with homework, and everything else.

Dessivee W: I am thankful that I have pencils and go to school. I’m also thankful for my family. I’m thankful for my house and Veterans even my sisters and cousins. I am thankful for my friends and going to school to learn and food and drinks.
