Answering The Call

A fire truck and the ladder truck from the Vermillion Fire and EMS Department, along with officers from the Vermillion Police Department, responded to a call the afternoon of Dec. 31 at a residence located near the intersection of Cedar and Willow streets in Vermillion. A passerby phoned 911 about a fire alarm sounding. Units responded to the residence to investigate. After gaining access to the home and investigating the area, it was determined that a faulty battery/detector had set off the alarm. No hazards were found.
