'X Is For Zebra'

Youth from Vermillion rehearse Tuesday as they prepare for their Friday performance of “X is for Zebra” in the Thomas H. Craig Center for Performing Arts at Vermillion High School. The young thespians have completed a week-long session of rehearsals along with Vermillion Community Theatre’s annual summer Children’s Theatre Workshop. The workshop is an Artist in Residency program and is sponsored by a grant from the South Dakota Arts Council. From auditions and rehearsals through the final performance, this week-long residency gave children a chance to learn what it’s like to take part in a professionally produced stage musical. The curtain rises for Friday’s performance at 6 p.m. Look for more coverage of “X is for Zebra” in next week’s edition of the Plain Talk.
