Early voting is now in effect we have an opportunity to continue to invest in our community and show our support for those who protect us every single day. As a former law enforcement officer, I know firsthand the struggles our current facility has. Vermillion and Clay County officers face many struggles day in day out and must keep on their toes in the street. Their building and offices should not be a part of that struggle.

In our current facility, there is insufficient room for officers to work and process vital evidence that can help a case. While an officer processes evidence, it can take up the whole patrol room where other officers complete paperwork. This room is just feet from an interview room where a suspect is interviewed.
