12:45 a.m. - A deputy responded to assist a Vermillion police officer at the scene of a traffic stop where a same gender pat search was necessary due to a custodial arrest.

12:14 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

4:12 p.m. - A deputy responded to a rural residence to check the welfare of a teen aged girl and her mother after concerns were raised when the girl abruptly left work in Yankton. Concerns at the residence were discussed and no further assistance was needed.

7:32 p.m. - A deputy responded to a request to provide traffic control for the safety of a motorist who was changing a tire on Highway 46.

Monday, September 6

8:23 p.m. - A deputy responded to a car/deer crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

10:00 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a man sending text messages to his ex-wife in Irene which violates a protection order. The man lives in another state. Charges are pending.

Tuesday, September 7

12:38 a.m. - A deputy checked the status of an unoccupied vehicle left on Highway 46. The vehicle had been present there for days but was not impeding traffic.

Wednesday, Sept. 8

1:16 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail to be processed for release from custody.

2:13 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

8:40 p.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a report of a medical emergency at an Irene residence.

9:36 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

Thursday, September 9

5:08 p.m. - A deputy was provided with a found license plate in Irene. The deputy determined who the owner of the plate was and returned it to him at his residence.

8:50 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

Friday, September 10

8:32 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be housed in the Union County Jail.

9:53 a.m. - A deputy received a report of a teenage boy taking a vehicle to school but he didn't arrive at school and was considered a runaway. A deputy responded and located the boy in Wakonda and returned him home.

11:20 a.m. - An Irene resident turned drug paraphernalia found in an Irene business over to a deputy. The deputy properly disposed of the item.

5:02 p.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a report of a medical emergency at a Vermillion residence.

5:52 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for failing to stop and failing to yield at a stop sign in Vermillion.

10:09 p.m. - A patient was transported from the hospital in Vermillion to a Sioux Falls hospital for a mental health committal.

Saturday, September 11

12:13 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a camper left parked on City property in Irene. It appeared that the camper had been left due to a flat tire and it was not apparent if the vehicle was abandoned there or not. The license plates belonged to a different trailer.

2:19 p.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a medical emergency at a rural residence.

8:41 p.m. - A deputy stopped a vehicle in Irene to inform the driver of a non-functioning headlight. The driver was found to be unlicensed and was cited for that violation.

9:20 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped for having no tail lights in Irene. Three occupants of the vehicle were cited for having open alcoholic beverages and for underage consumption of alcohol.
