9:12 a.m. - Officers investigated a report of a dog bite near a residence.
12:39 p.m. - Officers responded to a non injury accident on a private lot. Investigation revealed that the driver had lost control of their vehicle and damaged a nearby building.
Monday, July 18
5:59 a.m. - Officers investigated a report of a possible domestic assault at a residence. No arrests were made.
7:33 p.m. - A subject was arrested after it was discovered the subject had driven intoxicated to attend a court ordered sobriety program.
Tuesday, July 19
12:07 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a dispute between persons. Officers investigation found the dispute to be a parent-child conflict. No charges were filed or arrests were made.
2:33 a.m. - Officers responded to a driving complaint of a potentially intoxicated driver driving erratically. Officers located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The driver was not intoxicated and released. No charges were filed or arrests were made.
3:12 a.m. - Officers responded to a dispute between persons. Officers investigation found the dispute to be civil in nature and no criminal activity had been reported. Officers cleared the scene and returned to service. Alcohol was a factor.
10:26 a.m. - Officers responded to a call about a suicidal subject. The subject of the call was in crisis and sought voluntary help.
3:45 p.m. - An officer responded to an accident between two vehicles. No one was injured and one driver was cited for following too closely.1:15 p.m. - Someone reported to an officer that someone was violating a protection order. This is still under investigation.
7:16 p.m. - Officers responded to a driving complaint. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
9:10 p.m. –A subject reported that their two pickups were missing from outside of their apartment building. Officers responded and ultimately learned that the vehicles had been removed by management of the apartment building because of parking issues. The vehicles were not stolen.
10:54 p.m. - Vermillion Officers assisted another law enforcement agency by conducting a welfare check.
Wednesday, July 20
6:54 a.m. - Officers responded to a dispute between two subjects. One was taken into custody for simple assault/domestic.
8:58 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of damage property / vandalism at a local elementary school. The case is under investigation.
11:59 a.m. - Officers spoke with a subject who wished to report suspicious activity. Officers found no criminal activity but noted several family dispute issues at hand.
8:50 p.m. - Officers responded to a dispute at the park. The dispute was mediated and resolved. Officers then addressed a nearby noise issue. The subject playing unreasonably loud music agreed to turn it down and was given a verbal warning.
10:55 p.m. - Officers responded to a theft at the liquor store. Officers located the suspect, collected the stolen merchandise, and cited the suspect for petty theft and underage possession of alcohol.
Thursday, July 21
2:55 p.m. - An officer took a report of a stolen bicycle.
Friday, July 22
5:51 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a fire at Bluff View Cemetery. The fire was small and located in a gulch below the cemetery. There were no signs that the fire was intentionally started. The fire department responded and put the fire out.
9:33 a.m. - Officers assisted Court Services with checking residences for those on probation.
3:52 p.m. - A caller reported that a dog was found at Clay County Park. The caller located the owner of the dog, who was unable to care for the dog. The caller wanted to take the dog to the vet for vaccinations and microchipping. Another subject insisted that their friend owned the dog. An officer mediated and solved the issue.
11:44 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped near the intersection of N Dakota St and E Cherry St for a traffic offense. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for DWI.
Saturday, July 23
7:16 p.m. - Officers and EMS personnel responded to a 911 call for a subject with a gash on the subject's head. It was determined the subject sustained the injury when the subject fell due to being intoxicated. The subject was examined by EMS and they bandaged the subject's wound.
