MONDAY, MARCH 16

12:11 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a person waiting outside of a business in Wakonda after being asked to leave. The man was waiting to serve an eviction notice to a tenant who worked at the business. It was determined that the man was wanted in Minnehaha County. He was arrested and transported to the jail.

4:35 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

9:49 p.m. - Deputies responded to the hospital in Vermillion to detain a combative person and transport her to the Human Services Center in Yankton.

TUESDAY, MARCH 17

12:06 a.m. - A patient was transported from the hospital in Vermillion to the Human Services Center in Yankton for an involuntary mental health committal.

6:14 p.m. - A deputy responded to a complaint of a parking violation in Burbank.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18

9:14 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a medical emergency at a business in Vermillion.

THURSDAY, MARCH 19

12:31 a.m. - A Meckling resident reported a loud vehicle idling near his residence. A deputy responded but did not find any vehicle running in the area.

5:39 p.m. - The sheriff responded to a report of a vehicle left unattended on Bluff Road, in the driving lane. The car was towed to resolve the traffic hazard and the owner was notified where the car could be claimed.

6:41 p.m. - A deputy responded to a 911 call from a nursing home resident in Wakonda. Contact was not made with the man due to concerns over virus spread but staff verified that the man was OK. He simply wanted his dinner and had dialed 911 instead of calling staff.

FRIDAY, MARCH 20

2:50 a.m. - A deputy responded to a medical emergency at a rural residence when a man reported chest pain. Patient care was provided until the arrival of EMS.

9:36 p.m. - A caller reported someone possibly breaking in to a building in Meckling. Deputies responded and learned that the person was the owner of the building.

SATURDAY, MARCH 21

2:48 a.m. - A deputy responded to assist a Highway Patrol Trooper with a traffic stop involving a driver with outstanding warrants. In addition to the warrants, the driver was also arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

7:48 a.m. - An inmate was transported to the Clay County Jail from the Roberts County Jail.

8:50 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a person in Wakonda who had attempted suicide. The person was transported to the hospital by EMS.
