3:32 p.m. - Officers investigated a report of a dispute between persons. Officers determined that the feud was a civil matter and that no crime had been committed
4:14 p.m. - An officer was asked to do a welfare check, as the caller hadn’t heard from the subject in a while. While on their way to do the welfare check, the requester reported they had heard from the subject and no longer needed the check.
5:21 p.m. - An officer responded to a verbal dispute, which was ultimately determined to be a civil issue, as the dispute was over property.
6:46 p.m. - An officer responded to an animal complaint and assisted in removing a snake from their home.
Tuesday, August 2
2:10 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence. One adult was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant.
9:51 a.m. - Caller reported being assaulted by a co-worker at a local business. Officers completed the investigation and identified the involved parties.
2:34 p.m. - Officers assisted a probation officer with arresting a probationer that was found to be in possession of a firearm at the courthouse.
4:56 p.m. - Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in a private lot and assisted the drivers with exchanging information.
8:30 p.m. - Officers investigated a report of suspicious activity outside of a residence.
Wednesday, August 3
5:28 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a suspicious man walking around the neighborhood. The officers were unable to locate the person that the caller described.
8:15 p.m. - An officer responded to a residence in Clay County to assist with stabilizing a family dispute, as a deputy was several minutes away.
10:57 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated female who refused to leave a business after being told to do so. The woman attempted to bite the officers while being taken into custody and was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest.
Thursday, August 4
3:56 p.m. - Officers went to a welfare check and found the subject was intoxicated, a violation of their probation. The subject was brought into custody per probation officer’s detainer.
10:45 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a man rolling around in the boulevard. The man was inebriated and an ambulance was requested for him.
Friday, August 5
11:35 a.m. - An officer responded to a business parking lot for a non-injury two vehicle accident.
11:58 p.m. - A caller reported that a subject entered a local business with a weapon and demanded money from the clerk. The suspect was identified and arrested.
Saturday, August 6
2:16 a.m. - A subject called the police department to report that they had been approached outside a business and assaulted. Officers are still investigating the incident.
9:05 a.m. - A caller reported that their house had been egged. The caller did not know who would have egged the house. The officer was unable to determine if the eggs left any permanent damage.
1:38 p.m. - An officer responded to a complaint regarding a dispute between some neighbors about a fence being built. The officer spoke with all parties involved and referred the matter to the City of Vermillion Code Enforcement.
7:47 p.m. - Officers responded to an accidental 911 call and located a subject passed out from alcohol outside of an apartment building. The subject was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited for the drug paraphernalia and released.
