12:37 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer detected signs of impairment and requested the driver perform field sobriety tests. The tests indicated the driver was impaired. The driver was arrested for DWI - 2nd. Charges are pending.
1:28 a.m. - Officers responded to a local business for a report of a disorderly customer. Officers arrived on scene and were told by the business staff the suspect had fled the scene. Suspect was not identified and no charges or arrests were made.
9:02 a.m. - Officers responded to a call of a dispute between persons. Officers found the dispute to be civil in nature and no crimes had been committed.
10:21 a.m. - Officers responded to a past tense hit and run accident with property damage. The case is under investigation.
10:33 a.m. - Officers received a report of a missing person. Officers looked for the subject throughout the day. Officers were able to locate the subject and found them to be well.
2:48 p.m. - Officers responded to a dispute between persons call involving roommates. Officers mediated the issues at hand with the roommates and offered resources for assistance.
5:20 p.m. - Officers responded to a dispute between persons call involving Their neighbors. Officers advised both parties no crimes had been committed and offered them resources moving forward.
Monday, November 15
12:59 a.m. - Officers performing parking enforcement duties towed a vehicle for a 24 hour parking violation. Tow fees and parking fees are due when the owner/driver claims their vehicle from the city impound lot.
7:51 a.m. - Vermillion officers performing traffic enforcement saw a vehicle pass a school bus while the school bus' red lights and stop sign were activated. The driver was stopped and cited for the offense. Charges are pending.
11:35 a.m. - Officers responded to a dispute between persons involving an alleged past due debt. Officers investigation found the matter at hand to be a civil issue and found no crimes had been committed. Officers notified the calling party of his options for reclaiming alleged debt.
3:22 p.m. - Officers received an anonymous tip of drug related activity. The case is under investigation.
Tuesday, November 16
10:37 a.m. - Caller reported his identity was used to open phone accounts in other states. The officer opened a report and provided information to the caller to assist him in clearing the fraud from his identity.
5:02 p.m. - Caller reported a possible sex crime that had occurred years in the past. Under investigation.
Wednesday, November 17
5:17 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of an assault at a residence. Officers located and interviewed numerous parties and no arrests were made.
Thursday, November 18
2:15 a.m. - Caller reported six people standing outside a bar yelling at each other. Officers responded and checked the area but were not able to locate the reported incident.
6:17 a.m. - Officers assisted the Clay County Sheriff's Office with a non-injury accident investigation near Vermillion. Officer located scene and ensured scene was safe until a Deputy arrived.
4:57 p.m. - Officers responded to a non-injury accident. One of the drivers was determined to be impaired while driving and was arrested for a 2nd offense DWI.
11:39 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at a residence. After further investigation, incident was unfounded with no suspects located.
Friday, November 19
7:17 a.m. - Officers responded to a residence following a report of a domestic assault. Officers conducted their investigation and arrested one adult male for felony domestic assault.
Saturday, November 20
10:37 a.m. - Officers assisted with a funeral escort.
