9:49 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of cattle out on the road south of Irene. The deputy met with the owner of the cattle who resolved the problem.

Monday, August 23

6:54 a.m. - Two inmates were transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

7:59 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Jail to a behavioral health facility in Yankton.

Tuesday, August 24

6:39 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail to attend court.

8:08 a.m. - Three inmates were transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

9:12 a.m. - An inmate was transported to a medical appointment.

10:15 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the jail to a medical appointment.

11:49 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a cow out on 306th St. The cow was herded back into its pasture and the owner was notified.

12:20 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be housed in the Yankton County Jail.

1:25 p.m. - Three inmates were transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Union County Jail.

3:57 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a damaged mailbox at a rural residence.

4:34 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

6:12 p.m. - A wanted person was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

Wednesday, August 25

7:57 a.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a report of a medical emergency in Vermillion.

8:22 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

9:25 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a dispute involving a landlord removing a tenant without an order for eviction. The deputy took no action to assist in removing the tenant and the landlord was advised to seek legal representation to properly evict the tenant.

2:54 p.m. - The School Resource Officer investigated a report of a dispute between students in which a threat was made by one student to assault the other. The matter was resolved using school disciplinary policy.

4:30 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Union County Jail.

5:20 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

Thursday, August 26

6:40 a.m. - Two inmates were transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail to attend court hearings.

7:58 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to a medical clinic in Vermillion. After a doctor visit, the inmate was held at the Clay County Jail for a pending court appearance the following day.

12:06 p.m. - A deputy assisted with taking a person into custody in Vermillion for a mental health evaluation. The person was transported to Yankton for an evaluation and was held there for an involuntary mental health committal.

Friday, August 27

7:52 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the jail to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls to begin his prison sentence.

9:06 a.m. - A caller reported what appeared to be an argument near a residence in Irene. One person involved drove away. A deputy responded to investigate, spoke to witnesses, and learned there had been no assault and no one knew who the two people were. No crime was alleged.

12:06 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Yankton County Jail.

4:32 p.m. - An inmate was transported to be held at the Union County Jail.

9:28 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped in Irene and the driver was informed of a non-functioning headlight.

11:07 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped on Highway 50 near Vermillion and the driver was informed of a headlight malfunction.

11:18 p.m. - A deputy stopped to assist a driver of a vehicle with mechanical issues on Highway 46.

Saturday, August 28

12:03 a.m. - A Wakonda resident reported a car operating in town with a loud muffler. A deputy responded and located the vehicle and driver and informed the driver of the complaint.

9:35 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of ATV traffic on a rural road causing a disturbance. The ATVs were no longer in operation upon arrival but the driver was located and was notified of the complaint.
