2:17 PM -- A deputy investigated a report of an inmate who was out on a furlough from jail to attend treatment and had violated his furlough and failed to return to jail as required.

5:31 PM -- A deputy investigated a two vehicle crash on Highway 50 east of Vermillion.

Monday, June 3

7:03 PM -- A deputy investigated a report of an inmate assaulting another inmate in the jail.

Tuesday, June 4

6:39 AM --A deputy investigated a report of suspicions of drug use by an employee of an Irene business.  The employee was arrested for a probation violation relating to the allegation.

2:26 PM --Two inmates were transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

7:18 PM -- An inmate was transported to the jail to a medical appointment.

10:17 PM -- A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

Wednesday, June 5

10:18 AM --Two juveniles were transported from the Juvenile Detention Center in Sioux Falls to the Clay County Courthouse to attend hearings.

1:51 PM -- An inmate was transported from the jail to a dentist appointment.

2:30 PM -- A juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Sioux Falls after being brought to Vermillion for a court appearance.

 4:41 PM -- An inmate was transported to the Minnehaha County Jail after he had been brought to Clay County for a court appearance.

9:50 PM -- A deputy responded to a medical emergency at a rural residence.

11:24 PM -- A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Bluff Road.

Thursday, June 6

6:21 AM -- A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle abandoned on a rural minimum maintenance road.  The vehicle had been stuck in that location for some time due to mud.  The vehicle had been previously reported stolen in Turner County.  The vehicle was returned to its owner and the Turner County Sheriff was notified.

9:05 PM -- A deputy responded along with fire personnel to a fire alarm at a rural residence.  There was no fire and the alarm was reset.

Friday, June 7

8:03 AM -- A deputy responded to a fire alarm at a rural residence.  The alarm was determined to be due to a malfunction.

 1:58 PM -- Two inmates were transported to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls to begin their prison sentences.

6:56 PM -- A deputy responded to a one vehicle crash with the driver receiving minor injuries on Greenfield Road.

Saturday, June 8

3:22 AM -- A deputy responded to a report of a muddy, intoxicated woman attempting to get into a rural residence.  The woman believed she was at a different residence and didn't know how she got to this residence.  She was transported to her home in Vermillion.

5:12 AM -- Deputies investigated a report of a vehicle that was damaged at a party at a rural residence near Meckling.  There was also a fight at the residence regarding the damaged vehicle. One man was arrested for the assault.

11:35 AM -- A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle left parked in a rural farm field.  Efforts were made to contact the owner to have the vehicle removed.

1:02 PM -- Deputies investigated a report of a vehicle reported to be missing after being parked at Toby's in Meckling with the keys inside.  The vehicle was entered as a stolen vehicle.

6:11 PM -- A deputy investigated a report of a driver spinning his tires and causing gravel to chip another vehicle's windshield at a rural river cabin area.
