12:28 a.m. - Officers cited an adult female for urinating on a public sidewalk in the downtown district.

1:02 a.m. - Officers were called to a local bar for a subject who was refusing to leave. The subject had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

2:01 a.m. - Officers encountered an adult male with an open container of alcohol in the downtown district. The male was found to be under the age of 21 and in possession of a fake ID and was arrested.

2:09 a.m. - Officers responded to a dispute at a local restaurant. Officers determined that the dispute was civil in nature and that law enforcement assistance was not needed.

7:04 a.m. - Officers responded to a helpline report of a suicidal person. The subject was found to be suicidal and was taken into custody for a mental health evaluation.

10:51 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a missing person. Officers investigated and searched for the subject. Officers were notified by family when the subject returned home.

12:15 p.m. - Officers responded to a reported domestic dispute. Officers found no crimes had been committed and mediated an agreeable resolution. Alcohol was a factor.

Monday, October 4

12:17 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of suspicious activity and a suicidal subject. Officers located the subject and offered resources to assist the subject with his crisis. Alcohol was a factor.

4:35 p.m. -Officers received information about the location of a wanted person in Vermillion. Officers responded to the location but were unable to locate the wanted person.

6:01 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of theft. The case is under investigation.

6:25 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a dispute between persons. Officers located the subjects and found no crimes had occurred. The involved parties elected to separate for the evening. Alcohol was a factor.

Tuesday, October 5

7:14 a.m. - Vermillion officers responded to a non-injury car versus deer crash. The vehicle sustained minor damage from the collision.

7:37 a.m. - Officers responded to a local business for a subject that was refusing to leave. Officers escorted the subject off the property.

10:23 p.m. – Officers responded to a report suspicious activity with a person walking around an unoccupied home. Officers located the subject and found the tenant had locked himself out.

Wednesday, October 6

7:36 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a woman not breathing. Officers provided medical care, but the woman was deceased. No foul play is suspected.

Friday, October 8

3:45 a.m. - Officers heard gun shots in the downtown area. While attempting to locate the source of the gun shots they found an intoxicated subject walking nearby. The subject had a handgun tucked into the front of her pants. She was arrested for possessing a firearm while intoxicated and for false impersonation.

Saturday, October 9

1:30 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for not having their headlights on. The driver had no driver’s license and had an open container of alcohol. The driver and one of the passengers also had warrants for their arrest. Both subjects were arrested.

1:57 p.m. - Officers provided an escort for a Motorcycle Charity Ride through town.

11:38 p.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for expired registration. The driver was intoxicated and was arrested for DUI. The driver had previously been convicted of DUI twice.
