1:18 a.m. - An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. Officer's investigation found the driver to be intoxicated and in possession of a false driver's license. The driver was arrested and multiple charges are pending.

12:58 p.m. - Officers took a report of a male committing a lewd act in a public place. Investigation continues.

7:27 p.m. - Officers responded to a noise complaint from a subject shooting fireworks. Officers located the subject and resolved the noise complaint without a citation.

7:53 p.m. - Officers received a report of a dispute between persons. Officers found the dispute to be civil in nature. No action was taken.



1:47 p.m. - Officers responded to a report of a domestic incident. Officer's investigation found no crimes had been committed. Officers cleared the scene after providing two young children with teddy bears.

11:43 p.m. - Officers responded to a 911 call for medical assistance. The calling party reported bleeding from a fall. EMS arrived and took over care for the subject. Alcohol was a factor.


8:38 a.m. - Officers stopped a car for no license plates. Investigation showed the car had been stolen from another county. Charges against the male driver are pending.

4:13 p.m. - Vermillion PD officer investigated a report of suspicious activity in a city owned park.

6:47 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence to investigate a report of juvenile delinquency.

10:24 p.m. - Officers responded to a third party report of a dispute between a male and female. Officers investigation found the couple were arguing loudly. The male subject was arrested for an unrelated charge. The female subject was cited for underage consumption of alcohol. Alcohol was a factor.

10:50 p.m. - While investigating a separate offense, officers located a subject with an active warrant for their arrest out of Clay County, SD. The subject was arrested and taken into custody without incident.


10:58 a.m. - Officers responded to a report of a dispute between roommates over shared property. Officers determined the complaint was not a criminal matter and referred the caller to appropriate civil channels.

3:12 p.m. - Officers investigated a report of a theft from a Vermillion business. The suspects were identified and cited for petty theft.

4:40 p.m. - Officers responded to a residence to investigate a report of a possible domestic assault. One adult female was arrested for multiple arrest warrants from surrounding counties.


11:30 a.m. - Officers received an ID card that was found in town. The ID Card turned out to be fictitious and the owner was found. Charges are pending.

2:11 p.m. - Officers investigated an accident involving a pickup that backed into a parked car. The driver was charged with unsafe backing.

5:11 p.m. - Officers investigated a report of two adults passed out in a car with children in the back. One of the adults was an underage male who'd been drinking. He was cited for underage consumption.

11:25 p.m. - Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. Investigation showed an underage party was occurring. Officers charged the renters with underage drinking and social hosting.


1:04 a.m. - Officers found a male laying face down in the grass. The male was under the age of 21 and had been consuming alcohol. So he was cited for the offense.

1:33 a.m. - Officers stopped a car for driving without headlights at night. The driver had a suspended license and was cited.

2:08 a.m. - Officers responded to a call from a male who reported he had lost and then found his cell phone. He wanted to speak with an officer. The male was under 21, had been drinking, and gave the officers a fake ID. The male was arrested.

1:32 p.m. - Caller reported a man had come to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. Initial investigation indicates the wound was caused accidentally. Under investigation.

2:45 p.m. - While on patrol, an officer saw a woman walking down the side walk. He knew the woman had a warrant for her arrest out of Clay County. The woman was arrested.

7:14 p.m. - Officers stopped a car for speeding and cited the driver.
