2:16 p.m. - A deputy responded along with EMS to a report of a medical emergency in a vehicle on University Road north of Vermillion.
7:02 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Frog Creek Road.
10:04 p.m. - A deputy responded to the jail to assist with intake of two non-compliant arrestees.
Monday, September 13
1:10 a.m. - A deputy responded to the Viborg hospital to assist a Turner County deputy with a person brought there by ambulance after a crash on Highway 46. The man was under the influence of drugs and was non-compliant in the hospital.
3:34 a.m. - A deputy responded to an intrusion alarm at a Wakonda business. There was no indication found of any criminal entry.
9:44 a.m. - The School Resource officer assisted a Yankton police officer with a vandalism investigation connected to a Yankton case.
10:36 a.m. - A vehicle was stopped for speeding on 306th St and it was found that the driver was lacking proper registration and insurance information and had a suspended driver's license. The vehicle was not registered to the driver but she was cited for driving while suspended.
11:43 a.m. - A vehicle was stopped in Irene for operating with no license plates. The driver was cited for that offense and for not having insurance on the vehicle.
6:39 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held in the Union County Jail.
7:57 p.m. - A patient being held in protective custody was transported from the hospital in Vermillion to the jail to be held pending a psychological evaluation.
Tuesday, September 14
8:36 a.m. - Three inmates were transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail to attend court and a medical appointment.
11:11 a.m. - The School Resource officer investigated a report of a habitually truant high school student living in Wakonda. Juvenile truancy charges are pending.
11:18 a.m. - A caller reported fraudulent activity when a purchaser of an item sent a fraudulent check for the purchase price and an additional amount. The check was fraudulent but the intended victim had not sent the surplus money back, as is typical in this type of fraud. The intended victim had only lost the bank fee for the returned check.
11:20 a.m. - An inmate was transported to an optometry appointment.
12:55 p.m. - Three inmates were transported to be held at the Union County Jail.
3:09 p.m. - A person being held in the jail for protective custody was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital for an involuntary mental health committal.
Wednesday, September 15
9:33 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail.
10:49 a.m.- A deputy responded along with EMS to a medical emergency at a Missouri River boat landing area.
11:11 a.m. - The School Resource Officer investigated a report of a vehicle passing a stopped school bus on Timber Road. Charges for that violation are pending.
12:08 p.m. - Two inmates were transported from the Clay County Jail to be held in the Union County Jail.
3:34 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.
3:53 p.m. - An Irene resident reported her neighbor was driving his vehicle across her yard. A deputy responded and located the man and informed him of the complaint. The man was argumentative about the issue. The man was also wanted for two unrelated warrants and was arrested and transported to the Clay County Jail.
9:12 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a man returning to a Wakonda residence in violation of a condition of his bond after a recent arrest.
Thursday, September 16
6:53 a.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 19 south of Vermillion.
7:35 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Union County Jail to the Clay County Jail to attend court.
9:19 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Union County Jail.
10:03 a.m. - A deputy responded to a 911 call from an Irene residence. No one was present and it was determined that there was an issue with the phone line causing the problem.
10:40 a.m. - A deputy received a complaint of unlicensed vehicles parked on the street in Irene. The deputy responded and ticketed the vehicles and left a notice at the residence informing of a 24 hour time limit before the vehicles will be towed.
5:56 p.m. - An wanted person was transported from the Woodbury County Jail in Sioux City, IA to the Clay County Jail.
Friday, September 17
11:24 a.m. - An inmate was transported to be held at the Union County Jail.
5:58 p.m. - Deputies responded to a Wakonda residence after a report of a dispute between a mother and her teen aged son.
Saturday, September 18
7:38 a.m. - A deputy responded to the Hub City area and assisted at the scene of a cattle trailer fire where the cattle were unloaded for their safety but then were loose in the area.
6:27 p.m. - A deputy responded along with Vermillion police officers at the scene of an accident with injury in Vermillion.
9:48 p.m. - A deputy assisted the Vermillion Police Department with a death investigation at a Vermillion residence.
