SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2

6:08 p.m. - A deputy responded to a 911 hangup phone call from a rural residence. There was no emergency at the residence and the call was determined to be a phone line malfunction.

10:39 p.m. - Deputies investigated an allegation that a step parent had assaulted his stepchild. The child denied any assault occurred and no evidence of a crime was found.

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 3

9:23 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the jail to a dental appointment.

10:19 a.m. - After she violated her probation, an inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

11:28 a.m. - A deputy received a report from an Irene resident who had been a victim of a scam in which a seller of an item asked for gift cards in payment. The item was never provided after the gift card codes were given to the seller.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4

8:47 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the jail to a behavioral health evaluation in Yankton.

1:14 p.m. - A deputy assisted with the apprehension of a suspect of a vehicle theft in Vermillion. The suspect was located and apprehended in Yankton.

2:38 p.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

7:01 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Timber Road.

9:45 p.m. - A deputy stopped a vehicle with a non-functioning headlight. A passenger in the vehicle was found to have a local warrant. The passenger was arrested and transported to the jail.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5

3:46 a.m. - A deputy assisted Vermillion Police officers with locating and arresting a man involved in a domestic assault in Vermillion.

9:20 a.m. - The school resource officer responded to a Vermillion residence after a mother reported her son would not get up and go to school. The student did eventually get up and go but was tardy.

9:47 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a habitually truant student in Irene.

10:08 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a theft of items such as car keys and a wallet from a rural residence. Most of the items were later found and had been misplaced in the home.

11:28 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a domestic assault in Irene. The offender was arrested and booked into the jail.

3:16 p.m. - A deputy investigated a burglary at a rural business near Vermillion.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6

1:12 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a prowler at a rural residence. No people or tracks were found in the area.

9:13 a.m. - While escorting inmates in court, a deputy took custody of a man in court who had an active warrant for his arrest.

5:09 p.m. - A deputy responded to a rural residence when a caller reported seeing people outside. The deputy found no one outside the residence.

10:02 p.m. - A deputy responded to a rural residence after a caller reported seeing people outside of his window. This caller had made the same type of report several times recently. No one was located outside of the home. The caller was transported by family to a hospital.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7

7:11 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a damaged mailbox on Burbank Road.

4:34 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near a rural residence. The car appeared to have mechanical issues and was not obstructing traffic so no action was taken.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8

11:39 a.m. - A deputy responded to a complaint of a dog at large in Irene.
