12:37 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of an open door on a vacant house in Wakonda. The deputy determined that the door had likely blown open due to wind and there had been no forced entry or crime.

6:08 p.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on Highway 50 west of Meckling.

Monday, November 15

8:43 a.m. - A caller reported an injured deer on the edge of the road on Highway 19 south of Centerville. The sheriff responded and found a severely injured deer causing a traffic hazard. The deer was euthanized due to its injuries.

7:21 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail to be processed for release from custody.

8:30 p.m. - A deputy responded along with Highway Patrol, Fire, and EMS to a two vehicle crash west of Meckling on Highway 50.

Tuesday, November 16

1:33 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of an alarm at the bank in Wakonda. There was no problem found and the alarm was determined to have been a malfunction.

8:44 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Union County Jail.

9:30 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a combine striking a bridge rail on a rural road causing damage to the bridge and to the combine.

10:15 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of wet cement which was found to be mud spilled on Highway 19 north of Vermillion. The deputy provided traffic control while the hazard was cleared from the road.

6:36 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of an injured deer on Highway 19 south of Vermillion. The deer was euthanized due to the extent of its injuries.

Wednesday, Nov. 17

10:16 a.m. - The sheriff responded to a report of an injured deer in the Highway 19 road ditch south of Vermillion. The deer was injured and suffering so it was euthanized.

11:40 a.m. - A vehicle was stopped and the driver was cited for speeding on Main Street in Irene.

8:45 p.m. - A deputy mediated a dispute between two women involving texts, calls, and one driving past the other's house. No crime had been committed.

Thursday, November 18

6:17 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a car/deer crash on Highway 50 near Vermillion.

6:48 a.m. - A deputy investigated a car/deer crash on the Highway 50 Bypass west of Vermillion.

7:33 a.m. - Five inmates were transported from the Union County Jail to Clay County to attend court appearances.

12:34 p.m. - Two inmates were transported to the Union County Jail after court appearances in Clay County.

1:53 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a large amount of household trash and furniture dumped in a rural road ditch. The offender was located and cited.

4:07 p.m. - An inmate was transported from the Clay County Jail to be held at the Union County Jail.

Friday, November 19

12:25 a.m. - A deputy responded to a report of an abandoned 911 call from a rural residence. No one was found at the residence and no problem was observed.

7:39 a.m. - A deputy responded to a rural residence to enforce a court order allowing a person to gather property from her residence after a married couple separated.

7:12 p.m. - A deputy responded to a 911 call reporting a dispute at a Wakonda residence. No indication of any crime was observed.

8:51 p.m. - A deputy searched for a suicidal woman after her friend reported concerns. The deputy located the woman in a car in Vermillion. EMS was summoned to transport the woman to the hospital.

Saturday, November 20

12:46 a.m. - A deputy responded to assist a Union County deputy at the scene of a report of a medical emergency at a Union County residence.

4:51 p.m. - A patient was transported from the hospital in Vermillion to a Sioux Falls hospital for an involuntary mental illness committal.

4:58 p.m. - A deputy responded to assist a Union County deputy at the scene of a medical emergency where the patient was combative.

11:16 p.m. - A deputy responded to assist a Highway Patrol Trooper with a traffic stop resulting in a warrant arrest near Irene.
