SUNDAY, APRIL 25

3:02 p.m. - A caller reported that cattle in the Meckling area appeared thin. A deputy responded and found that the cattle had grass to graze and other feed available as well as water available. The owner of the cattle was informed of the concern.

6:40 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a dog at large in Wakonda killing a neighbor's dog. Charges against the dog's owner are under consideration.

8:06 p.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a sex offense that was reported to have occurred several years previously. There was also a related physical assault that was investigated. The investigation is ongoing.

9:43 p.m. - A deputy responded to assist units in Union County at the scene of a crash resulting in a vehicle fire. Traffic control was provided for the safety of fire units working to put out the fire.

MONDAY, APRIL 26

9:20 a.m. - A person wanted in Clay County was transported from the Minnehaha County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

12:11 p.m. - A deputy responded to a report of a dog at large in Wakonda. The deputy located the dog and coordinated with the owner to get the dog confined. The owner was cited for the violation of the ordinance.

8:30 p.m. - A caller reported concern about an unmonitored controlled burn. A deputy responded and found that the fire had died down and was contained. The property owner was contacted and was informed of the concern.

8:52 p.m. - A patient was transported to a Sioux Falls hospital to be held on an involuntary mental health committal.

TUESDAY, APRIL 27

9:41 a.m. - A deputy attempted to locate a truant high school student at a Wakonda residence.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28

3:49 p.m. - A deputy responded to a hangup 911 call from a rural residence. The deputy met with the homeowner who had not been home and determined there was a phone line malfunction causing the call.

THURSDAY, APRIL 29

8:30 a.m. - A deputy responded to a Wakonda residence to locate a truant high school student. The student and her mother were located at the home and the student was transported to school by her mother.

11:56 a.m. - An inmate was transported from the jail to the State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls to begin his prison sentence.

9:07 p.m. - A deputy encountered a vehicle stopped on Highway 19 north of Vermillion and assisted the driver with a tire change.

FRIDAY, APRIL 30

9:59 a.m. - Deputies responded to a report of a rollover crash resulting in a truck blocking traffic on 306th St. After investigation, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana.

2:56 p.m. - A deputy provided traffic control for a funeral procession in Irene.

6:24 p.m. - A wanted person was transported from the Yankton County Jail to the Clay County Jail.

9:20 p.m. - A caller requested a welfare check of his non-custodial kids when their mother would not return his calls. It was determined that the man was attempting to use the welfare check as a means to harass and control his kids' mother and no contact was made.

SATURDAY, MAY 1

7:48 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a dog straying from a rural residence and attacking a dog in Meckling.

9:03 a.m. - An inmate being held for Clay County in Union County was transported to the Clay County Jail to be processed for release from custody.

11:07 a.m. - A deputy investigated a report of a burglary and theft from a vacant rural residence.

5:45 p.m. - A deputy responded to the Missouri River after a report of a found overturned kayak. The deputy learned that the operator of the kayak was in a group and capsized but was safe.
