Edwin A. Johnson, 70, was born in Pueblo, Colorado on January 8, 1949 and died on May 3, 2019 in Pocatello, Idaho. Edwin graduated from Yankton High School in 1967. He was known for his athleticism in High School. He received a BA in Sociology from the University of South Dakota in 1972 and a BS in Nursing from Idaho State University.

Edwin lived in Pocatello, Idaho, Yankton and in rural Vermillion. He worked as a Nurse in Yankton for a period of time. He and his wife Michelle Martin were best known in the Vermillion area for their singing and songwriting. They were also known for their fine touch with family and friends.

Edwin experienced a disabling Cerebrovascular Accident [stroke] in 2010. He spent the remainder of his life in Care Centers, initially in Vermillion and then in Pocatello, Idaho.

Edwin was preceded in death by his father Robert B. Johnson, mother Martha K. Johnson and his wife Michelle Martin.

His wife Michelle Hansen Martin, born in 1960 and died in August 2, 2014 in Pocatello, Idaho, due to cancer.

Edwin is survived by daughter Ellie [Willie] SON Matthew [Lori], brothers David [Linda] and Peter [Jan] and sister Sarah [Rodger] and his former wife and friend Joann Crane together with four grandchildren and six nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Edwin and Michelle will be held by family and friends at Clay County Park, 5 miles west of Vermillion, South Dakota on Timber Road on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 1:00 PM. There will be a potluck dinner after the Memorial Service. Seating will be limited. Those attending may want to bring a lawn chair.
