Dale Allen Hughes, 73, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away peacefully at his home surrounded with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.
Abiding his wishes, he was being cremated and no services are planned.
Dale was born on July 30, 1948 in Vermillion, the son of Robert and Margaret (Shadbolt) Hughes. He attended Vermillion High School until 10th grade.
He was blessed with three children, Dale Jr., Stacey and Gina.
Dale was an outgoing and goofy gentleman who always loved to see people laugh. He also was the hero to his children especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dale always had the “special” key to someone’s heart. He loved to sing his heart out and his sister would always come to his house to sing with him. Dale was a very hard worker and never ever wanted to give up on anything. Family was huge part for him and loved them dearly. He was a great grandpa and was always there when you needed him.
He is survived by his 3 children, Dale Jr., Stacey, and Gina; his three grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; his sisters and their spouses, Gloria Taggart and Beverly (Darrell) Mincks all of Vermillion and Donna Baltazar of Sioux Falls; his brother, Jerry Hughes of Englewood, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother-in-law, Alfred Taggart.
