Geraldine “Gerry” Clark, 90, of Vermillion passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Alcester Care & Rehab. Center in Alcester.
A Celebration of Gerry’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Vermillion with Rev. Cal Petersen officiating. Private family burial will take place at Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion prior to the service. Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Monday, June 3, 2019 at Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion with a prayer service to follow at 7 p.m.
Geraldine Hansen was born on September 10, 1928 in Gettysburg, South Dakota; the daughter of Joy & Fannie (Harvey) Hansen. She attended and graduated from University High School.
Gerry was united in marriage to Alfred R. Clark on August 1, 1948 at First United Methodist Church in Vermillion and to this union, five children were born, Allen, Charles, Larry, Norma, and Donna.
Gerry was a talented seamstress and baker. Her homemade bread and cinnamon rolls were the best. She was a stay-home mom who had a large garden and canned many vegetables to feed her family.
Gerry and Bob enjoyed camping and traveling. Bob preceded her in death on February 26, 2012.
She was a life-long member of the Legion Auxiliary and Faith Hope Circle at First United Methodist Church in Vermillion.
Survivors are her sons, Charlie (Carol) Clark, Larry (Gladys) Clark, and Allen Clark; her two daughters, Norma (Dennis) Ferdig, and Donna (Dan) Enderson; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Alta Hansen, and Leta Hansen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, and two brothers, Francis Hansen and Verle Hansen.
The Kober Funeral Home of Vermillion has been entrusted with the services.
