James "Jim" Wilson, formerly of Sibley, IA and Vermillion, SD, passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on May 6, 2020 at his home in Fredericksburg, TX. He grew up in Sibley, IA & moved to Vermillion in the early 1970's. He drove truck for several years and worked in the Pressure Washer industry in Alcester, Vermillion & Elk Point. He married Judy Howe in 1985 and soon they began a new career in trucking where they drove team until retirement in 2003. At that time, they became full time RVers and members of the RV Workamping community. They worked in a variety of RV parks, mostly in South Dakota & Texas. Jim worked in maintenance, primarily taking care of TV and electrical systems. In 2013 they quit traveling and stayed full time in Fredericksburg where they have continued to work at Oakwood RV Resort.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Dorothy Wilson, brother Jack Wilson, son Mike Wilson and an infant daughter.
He is survived by his wife Judy, 5 children and 5 stepchildren and their families: Mary (Jeff) Martin, Beth (Dave) Molitor, and Lynn (Steve) Mulder all of Sibley, IA; Kathy Harskamp, George, IA; Cora Wilson, Tyler, TX; Pat (Jeanette) Howe, Rapid City, SD; Andy (Rhonda) Howe, Wakonda, SD; Chris (Sarah) Howe, Abilene, TX; Matthew (Jennifer)Howe, South Bend, IN; and Steven (Mari) Howe, Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his brother Tom (Linda) Wilson, Sioux Falls, SD and uncle Mark (Diane) Krukemeyer, Gilbert, MN.
He loved working with his hands, fixing, building, remodeling. He would get an idea for a project and "just do it". He loved spending time on the phone with old friends and making new friends wherever he went. He requested no services, but wouldn't mind a bit if anyone wanted to raise a glass in his memory!
