Wanda C. Davies, 86, of Milton, Iowa died early Sunday, December 2, 2018, at her son’s home in Brighton, Iowa. A graveside service will be held in Vermillion, SD at a later date. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is assisting the family.
Born August 6, 1932, in Beresford, South Dakota, the daughter of Christian L and Clara M (Hansen) Christensen. She attended public school in Beresford, SD graduating from High School in Centerville, South Dakota. She earned her teaching certificate and taught school in Hurley, SD where she met her future husband. Roger H. and Wanda C. Davies were united in marriage August 6, 1952 in Centerville, SD.
After her marriage, she became a housewife and mother while raising her family. She enjoyed playing cards, being a Cub Scout leader and cheering on her sons and grandchildren as they participated in sports and other school activities. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bloomfield, Iowa.
Wanda will be deeply missed by her two sons, Chris (Cinda) of Brighton, IA and Thomas (Karen) of Vermillion, SD, six grandchildren: Scott (Carrie) , Thomas (Terri), Lindsey (Hank), Daniel, Randeana, and Desiree, six great grandchildren Laina, Mia, Hudson, Emme, Cash, and Henry and two step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Gary (Madonna) Christensen and sister-in-law Nona Christensen, many nieces and nephews, other family members and dear friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Roger in 2005, sisters Loraine and Zelma and brothers Cecil, Wayne and Russell and a great grandson.
