Weather conditions were favorable on Monday at The Bluffs Golf Course and the Tanagers girls’ golf team took full advantage. They won the team title at their home Invitational and placed three golfers in the top six.
Ronnie Wilharm was second overall (81), Steph Carr was fifth (85) and Georgia Johnson was sixth (86). Canton's Olivia Sorlie took medalist honors with an 80. Emma Willert shot 89 to take 13th and Kaitlin Tracy was right behind her with a 90 (16th). Taylor Reuvers shot 96 (26th).
Vermillion beat out Sioux Falls Christian by four strokes, 341 to 345. Canton was third at 349 in the 11-team event. All the teams will return to The Bluffs on Monday, May 22 for the Dakota XII Conference meet. After that the regional meet will be at Spring Creek in Sioux Falls on May 25.
