The Tanagers hosted Lennox last Friday in a rescheduled game. Vermillion defeated the Orioles 62-32 to improve to 13-0 on the season.
Vermillion held Lennox to six in the first quarter and scored 15. The Tanagers doubled their lead in the second, entering the half ahead 32-14.
Lennox outscored Vermillion by one in the third, but the Tanagers had a 17-point lead going into the fourth, up 44-27.
The Tanagers held Lennox to five points in the fourth and added 13 points to their lead. Vermillion tallied their 13th win of the season, 62-32.
Vermillion senior Dillon Gestring had 20 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals on the night. Senior Jakob Dobney tallied 17 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Senior Noah Gilbertson had eight points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal.
For Lennox, junior Steven Christion led the Orioles with 10 points, two rebounds and one steal.
The Tanagers play Tuesday in a home doubleheader against Wagner. Girls’ varsity begins at 6:30 p.m., and the boys follow at 8.
