The Vermillion gymnastics team hosted their a dual Tuesday, January 12, against Madison. The Tanagers were topped by the Bulldogs 125.45 to 136.45.
“Over the break, the girls worked hard on adding new skills and connections into their routines,” said Vermillion head coach Shannon Thomas. “So we were pleased to be able to add a few of those into our routines against Madison.”
Freshman Serena Gapp earned the silver in the all-around event (32.15). Gapp was seventh in the uneven bars (7.5), fourth in the balance beam with an 8.15, placed sixth in the floor exercise (8.7) and was ninth in the vault (7.8).
Junior Mackenzie Brady placed third the all-around (31.45). Brady was sixth in bars (7.55), 10th in beam with a 6.7, placed fifth in floor (8.75) and placed third in vault (8.45).
Freshman Tori Farmer placed fourth in the all-around (31.45). Farmer placed ninth in bars (7.25), was seventh in beam (7.3), eighth in floor (8.45) and fourth in vault (8.45).
Senior Elaina Taggart finished fifth in the all-around (29.4). Taggart was eighth in bars (7.35), 11th in beam (6.05), placed 11th in floor (8.15) and was eighth in vault (7.85).
Sophomore Abby Roob tied for 11th on vault (7.65) and placed eighth on beam (7.05).
Seventh-grader Kelcy Orr tied for 11th on vault (7.65).
Seventh-grader Callie Radigan placed 11th on bars (6.6) and 10th on floor with an 8.15.
Sophomore Maya Radigan placed 12th on bars (5.4) and was 12th on beam (5.05). M. Radigan also had a 7.95 on floor for 12th.
Vermillion begins the postseason with the Region 2A Meet in Wagner on Friday, February 5, at 6 p.m.
