Vermillion Post 1 Legion baseball played Tabor at home this past Monday and won in six innings 10-0. Drew Thelen led the closeout after throwing a no-hitter.

Post 1 began with a 1-0 lead after the first inning. They slowly built their lead with one run in the third, and another in the fourth to go up 3-0.

In the fifth inning, Vermillion took off to tally six runs. Post 1 scored their tenth in the bottom of the sixth to end the game via mercy rule.

Vermillion had six hits and no errors in the 10-0 win. Tabor posted no hits and three errors.

On the mound, Drew Thelen threw nine strikeouts and left Tabor with no hits on the night.

At the plate, Jacob Chaussee led the way with three RBIs and one hit. Sam Ward recorded two hits for Post 1.

Vermillion will host the SD VFW Class B Region 4 Tournament this upcoming week. Post 1 will play the second game of the tournament Monday against Garretson at 2 p.m.

The championship of the double-elimination tournament will take place Wednesday at 4 p.m.
